ROLAND KAHN
Roland believes in satisfaction, with room for improvement,
every day again.
Roland Kahn is a Dutch entrepreneur, best known for his role as founder of the popular
clothing store chain CoolCat. He was born on December 4, 1952, in Amsterdam. Roland comes from a family that was severely affected by the Second World War and the Holocaust, during which the majority of his grandparents' families were murdered. As the only one of five brothers who has children of his own, he realizes the good fortune that befell him by knowing his passion at a young age.
For him, mental strength and health begin with self-love, love for others, passion, energy, drive, and a
to have a clear goal in mind. He therefore attaches great value to self-discipline. He prides himself on being curious and eager to learn, with great passion and energy. This enables him to occupy himself with various matters, such as supporting his two sons who have taken over the management of their companies, or encouraging his daughter, a talented artist who is primarily dedicated to the
helping others. Although he no longer earns money himself, everything he brings in goes to charity, including the proceeds from his book. Spirituality, such as Kabbalah, also plays an important role in his life. Since October 2022, he has become a father again, which is a huge motivation to realize his next challenge: reaching one hundred in good health.
For him, stress is one of the main causes of illness, both physical and mental. In 2017, he was diagnosed with cancer.
Since then, he deals with stress and injustice differently, and expresses directly what is bothering him. He won the battle against cancer, thanks in part to the amazing team at the AvL, which was an important life lesson for him. He tries to keep seeing the humor in everything. In the past, he was reckless with his energy and strength and practiced sports that he now considers too risky. Getting older has made him realize what is and isn't right.
contributes to a good life. Artists such as Pablo Picasso, Chagall, but also Andy Warhol, Koons or Mart Visser
inspires him enormously, as do architecture, music, and remarkable books. As a writer, he names Yuval Harrari,
known for works such as "Sapiens", "Homo Deus", and "21 Questions for the 21st Century". Roland believes in fulfillment, with room for improvement, every single day. He advises others to be happy with themselves and to focus on what they can influence.
