ART AS A VOICE FOR MENTAL HEALTH
ART AS A VOICE FOR MENTAL HEALTH
Perhaps you recognize the feeling that everything comes at once: pressure to perform, worries about someone else, not feeling comfortable in your own skin, or constantly comparing yourself to others on social media. In that case, it helps if mental health becomes a topic of discussion earlier and more openly.
During the A State of Trance Day Program, the Mental Health Art Tour presents a special exhibition on mental health. Through art and personal stories from artists like Armin van Buuren, Ferry Corsten, Laura van Dam and Ruben de Ronde, visitors are invited to reflect on mental health in an open and accessible way. Via QR codes, they can listen to candid audio stories. The exhibition features works by artists including JeeJ, Peter Donkersloot, Colette van Ojik, Irene Hof and photographer Brendan de Clercq.

ARTIST JEEJ
We are proud to share that we have started a special collaboration with artist Jeej during ASOT this year. Jeej's creations revolve around childhood memories while simultaneously challenging existing ideas about growing up. His work touches, inspires, and provokes thought. The artworks—his first silkscreens, combined with hand-painted smileys—are inspired by one of the most iconic drawings ever. A fusion of feeling and expression, embodied in the smiley, with the scientific approach of Leonardo da Vinci.
WHEN THE WORLD FEELS HEAVY, CREATE ONE OF YOUR OWN.— Jeej
