Lena Olivier
Listen here to the audio clip of Lena, portrayed by artist Irene Hoff, part of the Mental Health Art Tour. Subject: Femicide.
In 2014, Lena lost her sister Miranda to femicide. Miranda, a mother of three, was murdered by her partner after years of a destructive relationship. Lena describes the final years of Miranda's life as a "weird kind of Russian roulette." Trauma therapy has helped Lena get her life back on track: "Trauma therapy was the difference between life and death for me. I have my happy life back." She continues therapy to process the loss and emphasizes the importance of addressing trauma.
